“Unlock Samsung at Home” refers to the process of bypassing a forgotten lock screen (PIN, password, or pattern) or removing a carrier network restriction on your Samsung Galaxy device without visiting a retail store.
Depending on whether you are trying to get past a forgotten security lock or switch cellular networks, you can use several safe and official methods right from your computer or secondary device. Method 1: Using One UI “Forgot Lock” (No Data Loss)
If your phone runs One UI 6.1 or later, Samsung allows you to use a previously changed PIN or pattern to unlock your device. This option becomes available after 5 failed screen lock attempts and remains active for 72 hours after a password change.
Step 1: Intentionally enter the wrong code 5 times until “Forgot PIN/Pattern?” appears on the lock screen. Step 2: Tap the Forgot link.
Step 3: Input the previous PIN, pattern, or password that you used before the recent change.
Step 4: Choose a new screen lock type, confirm it, and tap OK to gain instant access. Method 2: Remotely via SmartThings Find (No Data Loss)
If you have a Samsung Account logged into your phone and previously enabled remote unlock controls, you can bypass the lock screen from any web browser.
Step 1: Go to the official Samsung SmartThings Find website on your computer or tablet. Step 2: Sign in using your Samsung Account credentials.
Step 3: Select your locked phone from the registered device list on the menu. Step 4: Click the Unlock icon.
Step 5: Re-enter your Samsung Account password to confirm; your phone will unlock remotely. Method 3: Network/Carrier Unlocking (To Switch Carriers)
If your phone is paid off but restricted to a specific network (e.g., AT&T, T-Mobile), you can unlock the network chip at home.
Step 1: Request a network unlock code by contacting your carrier or using their online account portal.
Step 2: Power off your Samsung device and remove the original SIM card.
Step 3: Insert a SIM card from an unsupported network provider.
Step 4: Turn the phone back on. A prompt reading “SIM Network Unlock PIN” will display.
Step 5: Type in the exact unlock code provided by your carrier and press Unlock. Method 4: Hardware Hard Reset (Erases All Data)
If you cannot use your Samsung account or past passwords, a factory reset via Recovery Mode is the final option. This completely wipes the device.
